Based in Dubai, Frederico Fernandes is, Associate Partner of WIZE, Aviation and Tourism Catalyst and founding partner of Futuravia VC. Frederico is Investor Relations and Mentor of Intelak Hub, MENA's only start-up hub Incubator, Accelerator and Idea Lab programme focusing on global aviation, travel and tourism - led by Emirates Group, Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Accenture and Microsoft. He is also a member of the board of the Arab Aviation Summit and is the co-founder of NewsAvia the world leader in aviation news in the Portuguese speaking countries. Frederico ignited and directed GIAS, the world-leading investment in aviation platform, a United Arab Emirates Federal Initiative, promoted by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority. He managed and executed the strategies that supported the UAE’s ambitious plans to lead, innovate and disrupts the aviation sector while ensuring an investment ecosystem for all countries by scouting the world best projects, in need of financing, connecting them with investors. GIAS secured over 300 million dollars investment attraction. Frederico dedicates most of its time passionately participating and soaring a better world for all, trying to accelerate investment in the transportation and tourism sector helping to disrupt new solutions to allow the global business to soar and to find the much needed sustainable and carbon free pathway.
