Marco is a Partner in PwC's Global Consulting Hospitality & Tourism Center of Excellence, based in Dubai and Riyadh. He is leading the hospitality consulting service offering, focusing on investor and operator services, delivering strategy to activation and transformation work. Building on his 20 year consulting track record across EMEA, he is currently mostly working with leading KSA government entities in the tourism and hospitality industry, supporting them in formulating reimagined and differentiated strategies, and cascading them through to full activation. Marco was born and raised in a hotel in Switzerland and entered his professional career as a chef. He then worked in the hotel and tourism industry for 10 years, including Michelin star rated restaurants, the Swiss Expo02, Autogrill, and Swissair, before embarking on a path following his passion to consult investors and operators with an entrepreneurial and holistic approach. In his early consulting years he spent time building a hotel advisor company in Switzerland, which was followed by time with HVS in London. He then moved on to support emerging market players in Eastern Europe, doing extensive hotel development and structuring/restructuring work. He was key in building the consulting arm of a Croatian-American family office with strong roots in SEE and CEE, before he joined PwC. During his tenure at PwC he was instrumental in building, and eventually moving the Global Consulting Hospitality & Tourism Center of Excellence to the GCC. He is a graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, where he is periodically transferring knowledge and expertise to the new generation of industry talent. In his free time he continues his love for cooking, and is a keen triathlete and photographer .
