FHS Africa Announces New Dates for 2027, Aligning with POATE & AFCON to Amplify Uganda’s Tourism and Investment Opportunities
FHS Africa will now take place on 28–29 April 2027 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda, aligning with the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) to create greater synergies between hospitality investment, tourism promotion and business development across the region. The summit was originally scheduled for 2–3 February 2027.
The revised dates reflect a positive strategic decision to strengthen collaboration between two important platforms for Uganda’s tourism and hospitality sectors. By aligning FHS Africa with POATE, the summit will create new opportunities to connect the international hospitality investment community with Uganda’s tourism industry, while showcasing the country’s potential as a destination for business, investment and leisure.
Following consultation with industry stakeholders and partners, the updated schedule provides an opportunity to build greater momentum around Uganda’s tourism and hospitality proposition, bringing together investors, hotel owners, operators, developers, tourism leaders and decision-makers from across Africa and international markets.
The alignment is designed to encourage stronger engagement between the investment and tourism communities, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, strategic partnerships and new business connections. Together, FHS Africa and POATE can help demonstrate how tourism growth, hospitality development and investment can work hand in hand to unlock economic opportunity across Uganda and the wider African continent.
Matthew Weihs, Chief Development Officer at The Bench, said: “We are delighted to align FHS Africa with POATE in 2027, creating an exciting opportunity to bring the hospitality investment and tourism communities closer together. Uganda has a compelling story to tell as a destination for tourism, hospitality development and investment, and this alignment will help us shine an even stronger spotlight on the opportunities emerging across the country and the wider region.
“FHS Africa has always been about connecting capital, expertise and ambition to support the growth of hospitality across Africa. By working in closer alignment with POATE, we can create even greater opportunities for our delegates, sponsors and partners to build relationships, explore new markets and turn conversations into tangible business opportunities. We look forward to bringing the international hospitality investment community to Kampala on 28–29 April 2027.”
Juliana Kagwa, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, said: “Uganda is proud to welcome the international tourism and hospitality community and to showcase the wealth of opportunities our country offers. From our exceptional natural attractions and rich cultural heritage to our growing tourism infrastructure and investment potential, Uganda is well positioned to attract new partnerships and support the continued growth of the sector.
“Aligning FHS Africa with POATE presents an exciting opportunity to strengthen the connection between tourism promotion and hospitality investment. We look forward to working with our partners to create a dynamic platform that showcases Uganda to the world, encourages business engagement and supports sustainable growth across our tourism and hospitality industries. We are delighted to welcome delegates to Kampala on 28–29 April 2027.”
FHS Africa will continue to serve as a leading platform for connecting the global hospitality investment community with opportunities across Africa. Hosted at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala, the 2027 summit will bring together the capital, expertise and decision-makers needed to support the next phase of hospitality development, while highlighting Uganda’s role as a gateway to the wider East African region.
Uganda will also co-host Africa’s biggest sporting event – AFCON 2027 (Africa Cup of Nations Football Tournament) in mid-2027, along with Kenya and Tanzania. The event will draw global attention to the region’s vast tourism and hospitality potential, and the adjacent dates of FHS Africa 2027 with POATE ahead of AFCON 2027 are designed to maximise impact for East Africa.
Through its alignment with POATE, FHS Africa will help strengthen the link between destination marketing, tourism growth and investment, creating a valuable opportunity for regional and international stakeholders to explore new projects, develop strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for collaboration.
The summit will feature high-level discussions and networking opportunities focused on the trends, partnerships and investment prospects shaping hospitality across Africa. With Uganda’s tourism ambitions and the continent’s expanding hospitality sector in focus, FHS Africa 2027 will provide a positive platform for business, investment and collaboration, reinforcing Kampala’s position as a meeting point for the people and ideas driving the future of African hospitality.
