Dean joined DAMAC in 2023 and is responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the division — overseeing commercial strategy, asset management, CRM operations, brand development, facilities management and performance optimisation across existing assets and future developments. His remit spans both owner-side and operator-side leadership, combining operational excellence with strategic oversight to maximise enterprise performance, strengthen governance, and protect long-term asset value and financial returns. Prior to DAMAC, Dean held senior executive positions with Cycas Hospitality, ONYX Hospitality Group, Pan Pacific Hotels Group and GLH Hotels. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Marriott International across the United States and the United Kingdom, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in the United Kingdom, and began his hospitality career in his home country of Australia with ITT Sheraton Hotels & Resorts. Across these roles, spanning markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Europe and Australia, he has developed deep expertise in asset optimisation, brand stewardship, mixed-use developments, pre-openings, business transformation and culturally attuned service delivery. Dean is recognised as a trusted adviser to boards, owners and executive leadership teams, with expertise spanning hospitality platforms, asset management, mixed-use developments, executive governance, portfolio optimisation and business transformation. He has led multiple pre-openings and repositionings and has contributed to more than 70 regional and international hospitality industry awards. Under his leadership, DAMAC Hospitality has continued to strengthen its regional presence while advancing operational efficiency, leadership development, sustainability and guest experience — including the introduction of the DAMAC Leaders' Academy, designed to develop and empower mid-level leadership talent across the organisation. Dean's leadership philosophy centres on building high-performing, accountable organisations through people, performance and purpose — delivering long-term value for owners, investors, guests and employees. His contribution to the industry has earned regional recognition, including being named among the Middle East's most influential hospitality leaders in 2025 and receiving the Strategic Growth Leader 2025 award at the Fluxx Awards Middle East.
