DUBAI, UAE, 29 Sep 2026: Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, and KRD Holding, a premier regional investment and development conglomerate, have announced the signing of Mövenpick Erbil Gomaspan Resort, a new-build resort scheduled to open in 2030. Set on the banks of Gomaspan Lake in the Erbil Governorate, the 150-key development will mark Mövenpick’s first property in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and its second in the country.

Located less than 30 minutes from Erbil city centre, the lakefront resort will combine sweeping views with destination-led facilities creating a new regional address for leisure escapes, weddings,
celebrations and business events, while extending internationally branded hospitality beyond Erbil’s urban core.

The resort will bring together 150 spacious rooms and suites, a selection of restaurants and lounges, a spa, family leisure club and indoor and outdoor pools. Weddings, celebrations and business events will be central to the resort’s positioning and appeal.
