Dr. Khalid Alshaibani

Health Sector Transformation Program
Dr. Al Shaibani is leading the team that is charged with planning and overseeing the delivery of the initiatives of the National Health Sector Transformation Program. The team coordinates with the multiple stakeholders both in the government as well as the other sectors. He graduated from King Saud University in Riyadh, and completed his training in Renal Transplant and Vascular Surgery in Oxford, England. He came back to Riyadh as a full time staff at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research center, where he assumed multiple responsibilities; he was the Director of the Renal Transplant Program, the Surgical Residency Program, and the first Business Development Program. He became chair of the department of Surgery, then went on to become the Executive Director of the Medical and Clinical Operations. He moved to the Ministry of Health in 2008, where he was assigned as CEO of one of the ministry's first tertiary care centers: King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, where he lead a team to establish the infrastructure and start many highly complex clinical programs such as Oncology, Neuroscience, and multi-organ transplant programs. He went on to assume the responsibility of the Director General of the Eastern Region Health Authority, then, as the Director of the Vision Realization Office, and Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Transformation. Before moving to his current post as the Chief Executive Officer of Health Sector Transformation Program.
