Louis is the founder and CEO of Nomadic Resorts an award-winning architectural and landscape design office that delivers innovative, experiential hospitality projects across the planet since 2011. Among their most recent work is Madi Hiyaa overwater restaurant at Banyan Tree Vabinfaru, Playa Viva treehouses in Mexico (which won the Global Ahead Award 2023 for Cabins, lodges and tented camps) and Wild Coast Tented Lodge in Sri Lanka which was voted Global Gamechanger at the 2020 Ahead Awards. The team has designed bespoke green building projects, treehouses and tented camps for various luxury hotel groups including Shangri-La, Domes Resorts, Banyan Tree, Six Senses, Playa Viva, Red Sea Global, Neom and Resplendent Ceylon. Louis recently launched Nomadic Escapes, a new outdoor lodging management company creating, a series of biophilic, low carbon tented camps with a strong focus on personal wellbeing and outdoor adventure sports. The first mixed use camp is under construction near the Morne in south-west Mauritius and several additional camps are under development in the Indian Ocean. Prior to launching Nomadic, Louis worked at Six Senses Resorts and Spas from 2004- 2012 as group Director of Green Building and Sustainable Landscaping, a role in which he helped develop the group’s ground-breaking sustainability practices. Throughout his career he has worked at the cutting edge of experiential travel focussing on pioneering projects including ‘Fresh in the Garden’ the Farm to Fork treetop restaurant at Soneva Fushi, the Treetop Dining Pod at Soneva Kiri and the innovative bamboo restaurant at Banyan Tree, Vabinfaru.
