Khaled is a Partner and co-heads the Gulf real estate and hotels team. Khaled has experience in the commercial real estate industry in the Saudi Arabian and Bahraini markets and has a broad skill set, including a strong focus on real estate sales and acquisitions, hotels, leasing, and regulatory matters. He has extensive experience acting for hotel owners in negotiations of hotel management agreements for new and existing hotels, including branded residences and hotel franchises. He also advises master developers, sub-developers, and investment funds on large-scale mixed-use hotel, retail and residential developments, lettings and disposals.
Prior to re-joining Baker McKenzie, Khaled was the General Counsel of the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Before that, Khaled spent close to 10 years at Baker McKenzie as part of the same real estate and hotels practice group in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Education and admission
Khaled was educated at the University of Cambridge where he graduated with a Masters in Real Estate and at Newcastle University where he graduated with an L.L.B. (Honours) and is admitted as an Attorney and Counsellor at Law in all courts of the State of New York.
