Ahmed El Wassief is the Chairman and CEO of Wings for Tourism Investment (WTI), a premier group of companies operating in Egypt’s hospitality and tourism sector. Founded in 1977, WTI is recognized for its integrated and exclusive service offerings across travel, accommodation, and experiential tourism. Under his leadership, the group has grown into a respected industry player, known for delivering exceptional quality and personalized service. Wings Travel, a key arm of the group, is one of Egypt’s most reputable travel companies, offering tailor-made travel experiences across the country. The group also owns and operates luxury Nile cruises and Dahabiyas under the MazaJ brand, redefining river tourism with elegance and authenticity. In the hotel segment, WTI owns and manages Coral Sea Hotels & Resorts, a collection of five-star properties celebrated for their unique character, service excellence, and immersive guest experiences. In addition to his corporate roles, Ahmed served as Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Tourism Federation from 2019 to 2024, contributing significantly to the strategic development of the national tourism industry. He is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association. Since 2011, he has also been a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a global leadership community of chief executives. Born in Cairo, Egypt, Ahmed holds a degree from the American University in Cairo. Committed to lifelong learning, he has completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School, London Business School, and INSEAD. Ahmed has been married to Perihan for 25 years, and together they have three children: Adam Kenzi and Maya.
