Eezan Shahul Hameed, Chief Commercial Officer at Maldives Fund Management Corporation (MFMC), a Maldivian state-owned fund, investment, and asset management corporation, is currently developing unique hospitality projects in the Maldives. In his current role, Eezan manages the growth and operations of MFMC’s entire commercial portfolio. He has been instrumental in accelerating MFMC’s groundbreaking initiatives, setting unprecedented benchmarks across the Maldivian economy. Prior to being appointed as the CCO at MFMC, Eezan served as a Trade & Investment Consultant to the Ministry of Economic Development in the Maldives, where he focused on implementing the government’s trade and investment policies. His efforts were particularly notable in large-scale projects such as the new gateway port in Male’ and the international airport in northern Maldives. His key achievements include launching the country’s first unemployment benefit scheme, which positively impacted the local economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eezan is also well-accomplished in the hospitality field, a sector he is passionate about. He has advised new investors on property acquisitions and provided project management services for resort developments. Moreover, he has led negotiations securing contracts with renowned hotel brands. As the CCO of MFMC, Eezan is a driving force behind groundbreaking integrated tourism projects being introduced for the first time in the Maldives.
